Australian artist Rachelle Dusting is based in Perth, Western Australia, and graduated in 2012 with a BFA (Hons) from the University of Western Australia and again in 2020 with her Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning Higher Education, and studied drawing in 2018 at the New York Academy of Art Summer Workshop Series.
She teaches painting and drawing privately and works on artwork commissions.
Her artistic flair has seen her branch out to many different sectors of the art world. Rachelle has been part in multiple shows across Australia and was the recipient of a scholarship to The Art Academy (2014), South Australia, working under the guidance of Australian artist Robin Eley. In 2017 Rachelle assisted Robin in Los Angeles as an Artist in Residence, aiding Robin in preparation for his Solo Exhibition The Binary Project, 2017, at Gallery 101 Exhibit in West Hollywood.
In 2019 Rachelle launched The Artist Path; a global creative event series seeking to answer commons questions surrounding the path of an artist’s career. The series ran in Perth, Western Australia, and Nashville, Tennessee.
Rachelle has created portrait works of influential Australian creatives and entrepreneurs such as Daniel Flynn, Jarrad Seng, Pippa McManus and Andrew Frazer, and created private commission works for West Coast Eagles Captain Luke Shuey, just to name a few.
Under her tutelage, Rachelle’s students have been selected for international programs such as UCLA painting summer schools and been finalists and winners in The Lester Prize Youth Award 2019 and 2020, Shaun Tan Young Artist Award 2017 and 2018.
Rachelle has taught art incursions in over twenty schools across Australia, having previously worked as an Art Instructor at UWA (2014-2015). Rachelle has also run workshops with Watoto International Uganda, Workshops AUS, Jacksons Drawing Supplies, and Awesome Arts Regional Residency Program.
